A study of the names of claimants by Churchill Insurance has revealed that Joy may be a happy name but Britain's Joys suffer more break-ins, accidents and water leaks than any other name.
Behind Joy, the unluckiest names to have were Diana and Tracy, while the most likely man to have a burglary, accident or other household claim was Sean.
Churchill's head of home insurance, Martin Scott said: "Our data does show that some names suffer much worse than others, but location, age and type of home are often better indicators.
"Our stats show that 25-29 year olds, those living in the North East and end of terrace homes are the most prevalent sufferers overall."
On the other hand, those with the names Frederick, Ruth and Tim were the least likely to make a claim.
A name also points to the size of a claim with Dorothy and Nigel making the biggest claims and Vincent and Kathryn making the smallest.
